Rotary clubs organize and sponsor this service organization for youth ages 14-18. Over 10,000 clubs exist in 118 countries. In Elk Grove, Interact clubs are active in many of the local high schools. The Laguna Sunrise Rotary Club is directly involved in the Interact Clubs at Laguna Creek and Franklin High Schools. These clubs offer an amazing opportunity for youth to work together to support community and international projects.
Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE)
Clubs and districts sponsor and host about 7000 students a year, ages 15-19, who travel abroad for an academic year or an extended holiday.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
Clubs and districts sponsor seminars to encourage and recognize leadership abilities of youth and young adults ages 14-30.
Educational Programs
These programs are designed to promote international understanding by bringing together people from different countries and cultures.
Ambassadorial Scholarships
The world’s largest, privately funded international scholarships program for university studies, sends 900 students each year to serve as ambassadors of goodwill while abroad.
Rotary World Peace Fellowships
Rotary World Peace Fellowships are awarded to individuals for study in master’s degree programs at the Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution.
Rotary Peace and Conflict Fellowships
Rotary Peace and Conflict Fellowships are awarded to individuals for study in a short-term certificate program at the Rotary Center for Peace and Conflict Studies in Thailand.
Group Study Exchange (GSE)
A cultural and vocational exchange program between districts in different countries for businesspeople and professionals ages 25-40.
